YouthWorks delivers education and job-training to disconnected youth through hands-on projects and classroom training. YouthWorks operates a GED and other academic studies classroom for youth and young adults who require an alternative pathway to high school completion. Students either enter a formalized classroom setting or study independently with licensed teachers instructing and supporting students toward academic progress. YouthWorks utilizes a suite of professional academic assessment tools to gauge student’ academic skills levels in order to design an individualized study plan. Students range in age from 14-24 and arrive with varying skill levels and therefore advance at their own pace with the help of supportive, compassionate teachers and tutors and staff. YouthWorks also helps students with remedial studies to re-gain access to traditional schools, and also work s with students to assist with studies to gain access or maintain studies in college. In addition, YouthWorks programs feature wrap-around case management assistance for youth requiring additional support and services, no-fee counseling as needed, career development, job-seeking and job placement services and local business-apprenticeship placement assistance.
